I make mine so when it comes out it is more like French toast with no bread. Look up egg loaf that is an awesome breakfast or lunch. I am sure if I smothered them it might be a tad bit healthier. Also not that anyone cares my other twice a year foods are fried chicken and fried calf liver. Another favorite of mine is chicken n dumplings but always make more dumplings then chicken. I have lost over 200 pounds so I plane high carbs meals that I love to 2 times a year. I love this breakfast and it is even better for dinner. When your potatoes are to your liking lid comes off and the potatoes brown right up again to your liking. I am sure this is nothing new, but when I make fried potatoes I put my onions in first cook them for about 10 minutes, then add the potatoes throw a lid on it and the potatoes steam a lot faster. I love gravy over my hash browns also or fried potatoes with onions if I make them. I like a thicker gravy so mine is think when we eat it. For those who have never make gravy remember as it sits it gets thicker. I don’t use salt because I don’t like it but use a ton of pepper. I also leave the grease in the pan as I use Aldi’s pork sausage which has a great taste but doesn’t leave that much grease. When I make mine I use heavy whipping cream and milk. Once it cools, it congeals into a big blob and microwaving it just doesn’t give it the same texture. The only thing I don’t like about gravy is reheating it. But if you have your own favorite homemade biscuit recipe, go for it! This recipe for Golden Oven-Baked Biscuits is one I use on occasion, too. I used canned biscuits this time because it’s what I had on hand, and it’s so much faster that way. Add some salt and pepper, and after a few minute it’s done! After you cook the sausage, you add the flour right in and cook with the sausage for a minute before adding the milk and it immediately begins to thicken as you slowly pour in the milk. I never thought sausage gravy would be easy to make, but it really is. I learned this from the actual Bob Evans recipe and if you’re a Bob Evans fan, you know it’s good!
